I’m so thankful for the incredible support Nicole gave my six-year-old son. He was behind in literacy—especially with recognizing letter names and sounds—and as his mom, I felt like I was getting nowhere trying to help him at home. Everything had to be extremely short and simple, and even then, he would often shut down. It felt discouraging for both of us.
In only four sessions with Nicole, the change has been remarkable. His accuracy, confidence, and speed have all improved significantly. And while there’s still a ways to go, what’s changed the most is his willingness to sit and engage. He used to avoid anything with letters and now he’ll actually look at the page, and that alone is a huge win. He is proud of himself and we are proud of him too. Going to the sessions was never a chore for him, which speaks volumes about the way she makes her students feel. She helped him feel capable again —and that shift in mindset has made all the difference.
Endless gratitude,

"Infinitely grateful!"
"I completed a series of four parent training sessions with Nicole at WordWise Literacy. WOW. It was very much worth the investment, and then some! I had absolutely no idea how valuable my time with her would be. She started from the very basics with letter sounds and how to print letters. I didn't realized I didn't know this stuff - but I didn't! She taught me about how people learn to read, and how to teach my son based on the assessment she had done. She gave me the resources and knowledge to teach my son at home with far less frustration than before. (It was painful for us all.) Now, being on the WordWise waitlist doesn't feel so bad. I have reached out to Nicole a few times with questions, and she sent me information and even demonstration videos back right away to get me on the right track. If you can't do lessons or just can't do them yet, you should definitely invest in her parent training. I am infinitely grateful for Nicole's knowledge and support!"

A message to the parent who is worried that their child isn't learning to read at school: Listen to your gut! You're right!
Nicole doesn't tutor. She is a teacher in private practice with unbelievable knowledge and experience. Every lesson is catered perfectly to our child and what they need, and is changed on the fly if that's what's required. She is intuitive, empathetic, inclusive, accommodating, supportive, and one of the kindest humans on planet Earth. Her services are worth every penny and more! We are consistently mind-blown at what she knows, what our child learns, and what we learn from the thorough reports Nicole sends each week. She doesn't just teach kids to read and spell - she teaches parents how to support them at home the right way. After years of worry and shame, we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing we found WordWise Literacy. We are forever grateful, and will always toot Nicole's horn anywhere we can. If you're looking at her website and you're not on her waitlist yet, do not hesitate. We wish we'd found her sooner.
She is pure magic with kids.

Mrs. Baker is the most amazing and kind teacher I have ever had. She made me believe I could do anything even when it was hard and that she would always help me. I could not spell almost any words when I started and reading was very hard and made me sad. Now I love to read, I know lots of spelling patterns so my teachers can read my work, and I can even read out loud in my classroom. I love Mrs. Baker!

I am so happy Nicole is my reading teacher! Choral reading and echo reading are my favourite. I used to hate reading and now I like it. I can read a lot of words now (even big ones!) and before I could only read about ten words. I learn new things every time I see her, and I also get to practice a lot so I don't forget the other things I have learned and get even better. She gets excited and always gives me high fives! She is happy and smiles a lot. She is really nice and kind and I love her.
